REQUEST AN INVOICE HERE

The School Action Toolkit is a suite of resources crafted around That Sugar Film and That Sugar Book to educate and raise awareness about sugar consumption within primary and secondary school settings.

Developed in collaboration with curriculum experts, the Toolkit is a one-stop shop that walks schools through a process for implementing sustainable change and provides practical tools to help engage the whole school community.

We are delighted to be working with Bupa, our Health and Care Partner for the School Action Toolkits and Schools Outreach program.

“Providing kids in Australia with access to information and tools such as the That Sugar Film School Action Toolkit is an important step towards addressing some of the nation’s toughest health challenges. Even small changes to our diets can help prevent many health problems like high blood pressure, obesity and diabetes.”

DR ZOE WAINER, Head of Public Health, Bupa Australia

Study Guide

The film has been devised so that sections of the film can be shown on their own to provide inspired, fun learning in the classroom. We have developed a comprehensive Study Guide mapped to Health and Physical Education and Design and Technologies curriculum content for different year levels that uses interactive activities from the film and the book.

The Study Guide is a key component of the School Action Toolkit.

OUTREACH

We are working on a range of engagement initiatives, such as competitions and education videos, that will be delivered via our website and social media channels. These initiatives will include opportunities for schools to engage with Damon and other high-profile friends of the film. You will also be able to monitor your school’s progress and see what other schools around Australia are doing to reach their goals of raising awareness and reducing sugar consumption.

Please sign up to the Schools Mailing list below and follow us on Facebook to be the first to hear about these outreach initiatives.

SCREENINGS

school screenings

It’s wonderful to be hearing from so many schools that would like to hold on-site screenings for their students and the wider school community.

Schools that purchase a School Action Toolkit are automatically granted an educational licence to screen the film on school premises. This licence extends to free screenings for parents and staff, but does not extend to fundraisers or ticketed events where an entry fee is charged.

FUNDRAISER AND ‘FOR PROFIT’ SCREENINGS

If you wish to host a fundraiser screening for your school, you need to purchase a ‘Community Screening’ licence which allows you to sell tickets to raise funds for your chosen cause.

Schools that have already procured a School Action Toolkit are able to purchase a discounted ‘Community Screening’ licence for a nominal fee. Please email screenings@madman.com.au with ‘School Fundraiser’ in the subject line and one of our team will get back to you with further info.

If you have not purchased a School Action Toolkit and wish to host a fundraiser or ‘for profit’ screening, please complete our Community Screening form by clicking below and we’ll get back to you with applicable pricing.

What teachers have been saying:

“Thank you so much for making the film, book and app. Most especially, the documentary as it is such a riveting eye opener for me. It’s so empowering that teenagers like me want to talk about it, make statuses and updates about it. I took action straightaway and told all my friends and family. I really want to get the word out there because I honestly never thought about sugar this way.”
